    Re: Kramer Focus 1000

I have an early-early Focus 1000 with a solid body, original floyd with fine tuners and it smoles the Model 2 cahrvel by leaps and bounds, just a better guitar and I like the Model 2. My Focus 1000 is so early, the neckplate has no markings and the rosewood it very top notch and real MOP dot inlays on the board. Super quality and tone, although the orignal Schaller pickup crapped out, got a new SD `59 in there now, but may try the SD Custom next. The neck is pretty darn fat and sweet. Jack.

They must have switched the trem then - the earlier ones had no fine tuners. Does it have floyd locknuts? the early ones have a regular nut also.

Yep, Floyd Lock nut. Never goes out of tune and I hammer it. If it isn`t original, it smokes either way, but if it is, I may have some sort of special order. The quality and grain of the rosewood is scary man!! Jack.

I doubt it was a special order - the focus was the lower end of the chain at the time - it was the 'model series' of the Kramers. I bet it's a transistion model, when they were first starting to put the locknut on the necks. Great guitars any way you slice it though, especially for the bucks.

I have nerver seen a Focus with out the lock nut, even with the non fine tuning bridge. Here is the first year Focus lineup...

The hocky headstock was phased in later in less than a year after introduction.
