My collection has changed so much in the past year or so, that I thought I'd take a new group shot. Here they are:

Back row (L to R): Kramer 522S/P Bass, Charvel SD 1, Warmoth, Jackson SL4-1H
    Front row (L to R): JEM 7VWH, RG20051, RG2120KKB, RG520-SM

      specs on the warmoth?

There is a spalt top one on ebay right now for 350ish. I am seriously considering going for it. Its not a high end RG, but the spalt looks killer. Very similar to the one you have that was retopped.

        Thanks, JB!

Chris, the Warmoth is: One piece Swamp Ash body with contoured heel, Carved Figured Maple top in Cherry Sunburst, direct-mounted EMG 81, 1 vol, black OFR, unfinished Palisander Rosewood neck with Ebony fretboard, Abalone inlays, 6105 frets, Wizard backshape, 1-11/16" nut w/R3 Floyd nut, Schaller tuners & strap locks.

I just checked the spalted RG on eBay, and it's from the same guy who did mine. FWIW, he seemed like a decent, honest guy to me. I note that he says his finish isn't perfect. The finish on mine isn't perfect either (not like the factory-finished RG2120KKB next to it), so if you're picky, you might consider that. However, I'm very happy with mine, and for that price, I think it looks like a helluva deal.

It's funny that he ditched the tone knob on his, too. His EMGs look cool, and I like the way he stained his fretboard, too.

Can't be picky at that price. Whats wrong with the finish though?

          How is that Palisander neck?

            Re: Group Pic

If you look at it in certain light, you can see some waviness in the veneer in places. Also, while it has gloss, it is not nearly as glossy as my factory finished guitars.

The Palisander neck is great. I chose it largely because I wanted to keep it unfinished, and Warmoth says you can do that with this material; however, it is also very attractive, IMO.

How are you liking that SD-1? (that is Jims old one I take it?)
I had nothing to trade so I couldn't grab her.
What's the neck shape like on it? I've never had the chance to play one, but I love the way that one looks with all the gold hardware on it.
If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

                            Thanks again, everyone.

kmanick, I am really liking the SD1 a lot. The neck is thinner than I expected, which is a good thing, IMO. Not as thin/wide as my Ibanezes; similar to my Jackson SL4. It's extremely comfortable to play. I'm not sure about the pickups yet. Still need to try them out with my main rig.
