well, here's a few things i've just about got finished up. i'm so glad to be almost done with my paint work. oy. this one was just finished recently. pix aren't that hot; i'll try to get better ones soon.
quilty firebird. ebony board. no inlays. duncan custom. good times.
close up of the color:
here it is with it's sibling, a reverse firebird with a spalty top:
i did this one over the late summer/early fall. i think i posted some pix before, but here's the finished version:
and a "while the clear dries" shot. you can see RR_1525's rhoads hanging in the background.
now on to the carved top dinky. the body was a prototype made by an acquaintance of mine. one of our jcf members also has a body like this, and interestingly enough, we both painted ours metallic colors. this one's just about done; i've got to lower the nut platform a bit (...stupid tall floyd nuts!) then set it all up. there was a dimebucker in there at first, but i replaced it with the best sounding pickup ever. yep, the custom.
i was gonna go with a black headstock, but i ran out of black, and i had some of this metallic silver left, so on it went. i decided to try a double logo, and i think it went well. check it, yo.
and here's a (crappy) full shot of it as it is now.
the only thing i don't like about the body is that it's too small for me. there'll be a few more coming this weekend, right kev?
i've got a bunch more pix, but i'm pressed for time at the moment. more later.
sully
