y'know, I've only really come to appreciate Firebirds since I've been a member of the JCF. That blue one is outta sight! Did you do the body binding yourself? Looks amazing.
G, no, i didn't bind the blue one, but binding stuff is oddly something that i really enjoy. for some reason, doing binding over frets on a neck, along with binding repairs and stuff like that is something that i found i really enjoyed.
tim, no actually, just the opposite! i'm finishing off everything in the garage and closing up the proverbial shop.
thanks trace! i actually thought of you when i started relic'ing that bird. it just looked too cool when i color sanded the white paint (and accidentally sanded through a bit of it). i figured you'd approve so i grabbed a more coarse piece of sandpaper and went for it. seriously! the purple bird is actually more like a sapphire blue; it photographs strangely, that's fo sho. it's also loud as hell acoustically. good times.
Sully any advice for someone who wants to learn to build guitars. I am talking about being able to do everything set necks neck thrus, inlays. Is there books or a school you would recommend.
