i have never been a big EVH fan, but i had to get this done. the guitar is an '86 body, made of poplar. the neck is a 1984 reissue neck, but the headstock was reshaped to be more accurate to EVH's guitar. the pickup is a duncan custom/custom...all the hardware is the stock 86 kramer stuff: OFR, schaller tuners... i have to finish wiring the guitar today. i can't wait to play it!!
the heel of the 1984 neck was shaved to allow it to sit deeper in the pocket. that way the floyd could rest flat on the body instead of having some float.
i kept the pickup ring because i rest my pinky on it when i pick. i hate direct mounted pickups....
i am wiring it with a 250K pot because i prefer how that sounds when i don't have a tone pot.
