GERMANDETH, I completely took it as a joke.
I'm not offended or anything at all.

I love the Frehley model, but I played one and the neck is to damn fat

If you think that neck is big, latch onto a '68 Custom. Hell, even some '57s have huge necks. Maybe you have little hands.

My 68 custom has a nice neck, slightly smaller then a normal custom and was way smaller then my 57 BB. Now you are making me wonder if there are two different 68's. I have been eyeing one on ebay that is all black.

I'm guessing the neck will be the same size as your current 68. I was surprised when he said it was a fat neck as well.

Well, I only tried out one and it was a long time ago.
Maybe I had to much cough medicine that day

I don't know what you want me to say. It's a '68 Custom Shop Reissue with a big honking neck. It's the biggest, roundest, thickest, LP neck I've ever played. The End

You have a 57 neck to compare it to. If you say it's larger than that, I believe you, but what that means to me is scratch off looking for a 1968 Custom Authentic Reissue. I don't like fat necks and was hoping the 68 was a thin neck.

Don,

My 68 is thin, alot thinner then the 57BB, and the 60's models were known for thinner necks, so now i am curious too.

Re: gibson les Paul\'s are great

Not only is the neck like a Louisville Slugger, it's the heaviest LP I've ever strapped on. It's also the best "toned" guitar in my possession. Matter of fact, what sold me on buying the '68 Authentic was a conversation I had with Al Pitrelli. He specifically told me that he a 1968 LPC as well as a '68 Authentic Reissue and that other than the pickups, he could not tell the difference in playability. He did warn me that they were beefy guitars and that if I was looking for a neck similar to Ibanez or Jackson, I was barking up the wrong tree.
