Also, in regard to neck construction. It's strange that Wayne guitars have necks that look like they should be one piece, strat style, but they put a fingerboard on top, and install a skunk stripe merely for looks. Just something I've thought is weird.

yeah, it's just a looks thing. some people think a strathead has to have a skunk stripe on there. i admit that a stripe-free strathead neck is odd to my eyes.
i believe (but am not sure) that even the rosewood board fender strat necks get skunk stripes. the only practical reason for the skunk stripe was so that you could install a truss rod on a one piece neck.
anyway, yeah.

Rosewood Strat necks didn't get a skunk stripe until the bullet truss rod IIRC.
I find this line in Lee's response stunning!...
"he isn't paying me enough for this guitar to be complaining."
How much is it one needs to spend to be able to complain about unsatisfaction to one of Lee's products? Maybe Lee should have a disclaimer on his site stateing that "unless you spend $xxxx amount on a guitar, then no issues will be addressed and if you have a concern or problem with workman ship, I don't want to hear about it."
