Re: My Gibson family (pic)
I didn't see that one. Sounds strange! I think the coolest thing about Modernes is the Gumby headstock though. Even the Epiphone Modernes are creeping up - there's one on the 'Bay right now at way over $600. I had one years ago and it was a piece of crap.

Your Gibson collection is awesome! Love the entire back row, always wanted a 335, 3 hum SGs Rule! Oh, and who can deny an LP or two.
One thing though, the few times I have had identical 'looking' guitars, playing them always drove me nuts because of the subtle differences, looks like you enjoy having backups of everything. You ever get bugged by playing a dupe?
I actually like the look of this epi - the pickguard and color really work methinks. If it was mine it would be named Judy Jetson. That's all I could think about when I saw it. Judy is sooo hot!

Re: My Gibson family (pic)
Even though they look alike, they all have very different characteristics - physically and sonically. The two stop-tail Explorers are a 1976 and a 1977. Completely different necks, very different weights, different tones. The third Explorer is a 1976 that someone (NOT me!) added a Kahler to. The SG's are night and day. The red Showcase is low action, slimmer neck with EMG's...awesome rock guitar. The SG Custom is chunkier with stock hums, a great blues guitar.
The 335's are also night and day - one is a CS witha 60's slim taper neck, the other is a recent production model with a beefier neck. PUPs are completely different between the two.
