• It was a long day, but it was worth it.

My wife and I spent a day together, shopping of all things. 6 Guitar Shops in 7 hours. I came home with this one. These things are amazing. Nice acoustic sound to it and once it's plugged in an even better sound. Plays as good as any Jackson. I had been eyeing these for a while and the opportunity finally presented itself.

My wife bought a Daisy Rock guitar. It fits her hand better. I almost had her talked into an SG.

Thats not a fake back guitar is it? Taylors in general are great guitars but I've never played a composite back guitar that didn't sound like ass.

The bodies are Sapele. I have a T5 as well - it sounds amazing.

          Congratulations Jack!

I don't know what Sapele is, but it sounds good. Taylor didn't compromise in any way on these. I was able to play one about 9 months or so ago and have been lusting after one since. They did a great job in designing the guitar.

            Thanks everyone

I believe sapele is considered a mahogany variant but it's harder.

Tim is correct; it's known as African Mahogany

Are these strung with acoustic or electric strings?

Jack - call up Taylor customer service and ask for the neck shim kit. You can adjust the neck angle for whatever action you want. They include a DVD on how to do it. You don't even have to take the strings off. One bolt. It's amazingly well engineered.

Nice guitar btw....... I watched a guy demo one through a marshall amp a while back. Extremely versatile.

Thanks for the tip Tim. I'll do that. The action is pretty good right now but it could use just a hair tweak in one direction.

I think they are electric strings, the ones in the blue packaging.

Awesome! Sapele is indeed a mahogany. It often comes with intense quilt figure. Very pretty wood but its very heavy..for solid bodies. I don't often see it used for acoustics but I imagine it makes an excellent wood for that purpose because its very resonant. Thats a killer guitar! Nice top but I always worry about quilt or flame tops on acoustics. I guess I'm just a traditionalist.
