Re: Schecter Guitars

The Korean Schecters have their fret finishing done at the USA shop in California, I believe, which is the main reason they are better than the ESP LTDs and most most other guitars that come out of the same factory in Korea. I've heard a rumor that the fret finishing on LTDs is done by luthiering students, but I don't know the facts, so that's just a rumor. Wouldn't surprise me, though, given the crappy fret jobs on almost all LTDs I've played (totally unlike the Japanese ESPs).

        Re: Schecter Guitars

I'd believe everything you said pro. That would explain why Schecters seem to have such good fretwork and ESP so shitty. But ya know, Dean's also have damn good import guitars. I think theirs are made in the eastern bloc though. Not sure where specifically. Don't think its Asia tho. I've heard the wait for Schecter Customs is only 6 to 9 months. Is that true?

          Re: Schecter Guitars

I think some of the Deans are made in the Czech Republic, aren't they? I know that Spector was having basses made there for awhile--really good ones, too. I know that many of the lower-end Deans are made in Korea (and maybe China, too?). The few I've tried from Asia didn't seem that bad for the price. Could be that Dean's USA operation also does some finishing on the imports, as well.

The Eruo Deans were made in Czech, but I do not believe they are still made there. Nice guitars from what I hear.

                  I miss my Schecter

(USA custom shop; it was a SWEET guitar. I kinda wonder if they modelled the 'damien' models that they have out now after it..)

At least it has a happy home in Norway now

                    Re: Schecter Guitars

I love Schecters. Best bang for buck axe out right now!

I love my C-7 Hellraiser. I loved my C-1 Stealth. I miss my C-1 Classic.

Hell, I sold an RR-1 for the Classic and a new amp, and couldn't have been happier.

I am pretty excited about this, This is the only "guitar company" i am currently selling. I mean Line6 Variax guitars are cool and all, and so are the Floyd Rose ones, but I cant wait to see how these babies fly off the "shelf"
I have 14 coming and all 6 are spoken for already, two of which being 30th aniversary C1s

I am getting a new guitar this spring and I am trying to decide between a Schecter and the new DK2M. That C-1 Hellraiser with the OFR looks pretty nice.
