you know I think they are OK.
not great, not bad. I tend to buy moving parts from the best mfgr if I can. like I'd buy Schaller tuners before Allparts. but maybe their pickguards or pup surrounds, or bridges are worth a look.

As an ex-allparts dealer, I can say I've had experience with tons of their products. Some are great, some totally suck. The deal is, They don't actually "manufacture" anything. They are strictly a "re-packager", and a "re-seller". Like any other "re-seller", you have to know what you want, and you have to be familiar with who makes it, and the quality thereof.

Yep, All-Parts is a re-seller. For example, last time I bought a set of Schaller strap locks there were the Fender packaged ones for $14.99, Schaller packaged ones for $12.99 and All-Parts packaged ones for $8.99, all on the same rack. Guess which ones I bought!

yeah, the Pots are CTS, and the switches comes from switchcraft, and so on.. I sell the Allparts stuff all the time, just think of them as a big "distributor" of all kinds of shit, good and bad

Re: Allparts guitar products - Are they good?

exactly, Allparts is a saving grace, and at the same time, a lot of the products they carry, I wouldn't put on the crummiest guitar. As previously stated, they are a whole saler.

I know that the pots (I'm almost certain all are CTS that I've ordered) and switches (all that I've ordered have been switchcraft.) are good as well.

They sell some other things that are great too, component wise. The Schaller Strap locks, are like insanely cheap, but if you buy them packaged as Schallers, or Fenders or whatever, they increase expodentially. That was actually one of my biggest orders, once I realized what they were, when I received them.

At first I was skeptical, then I got them, and they were the same damn thing, so I ordered some for every guitar, every friends guitar and every friends friends guitar.

Not to beat a dead horse, but Allparts have good stuff, and bad stuff. You basically have to know what you're buying, then you see if they are selling it cheaper.

But, other than a few companies, I don't know any other way to get CTS pots, then again, I've never looked.

Yea, +1 on hit or miss. They are expensive on many of the items. You can go to other re-sellers and buy from them and they are Allparts. Allparts direct are major $. They are right down the street from me, but no "will call". They are my last choice in a pinch.

not sure I'd buy their tuners, say.
like I said, if you stick with the non-moving and non-electronic parts, that's an easy rule of thumb to get the best out of Allparts. straplocks are a perfect example.

For a neck, get a usa custom, I hear they're the best available right now.

It comes down, again, to some stuff is good, some isn't. I have seen some of the junkiest vintage style trems from all parts, and I have seen the same Gotoh Kluson tuners from all parts that Fender uses on the AV reissues and sell as fender replacements...

They are the only ones that carry Gotoh Tuners as far as I have found. They have Floyd parts pretty reasonable too, if you're a dealer... which I will be later this year...
