Re: Snowed in with the new SG

I noticed some SG's have the fret board going all the way up to the neck pickup. Would that be a 24 fret SG?
I have my eye on a double neck white SG...someday..

Next to the pots, what are the little holes for? One of the pots on a guitar of mine has a hole there and I always wondered why.

Did you get that on EBAY? I saw an ad for one last week. The dweebs were bidding low and then someone with smarts BINned it. I knew it wouldn't last.

1986? isn't that from when gibbo were going bust and producing the lowest quality guitars they ever made?

[/ QUOTE ] Actually, it's the Norlin era of Gibson that's thought to have struggled quality wise. That era ended in January 1986, then they built my guitar

Companies always raise the quality of the product as high as they can when they're looking to sell the factory. Looks like you got it at the perfect time! Once again, she's absolutely gorgeous!

Not all the Norlin-era Gibsons are bad. I have a bitchin'
1977 Les Paul Standard that I bought new in February 1978 as a self-birthday present. It's a beautiful axe, plays like a dream and sounds great too.

BTW, AWESOME SG Custom you've got there, man!

I bought a Cherry colored one back in about 76.

I think it was a '69 or something. It came with one of those big honk'n whammy bars which I took off. I also took off the pick up covers because they color the sound.

After that the guitar was great - my favorite of all the Gibsons. Great necks.

Frank Marino played one and so did Zappa.

Sweet axe man!
I had one and ran into some money problems, so I wound up selling it, I kick my sell all the time for it.
