Thanks appreciate the pic of the back side, very helpful to me. Maybe its me and I didn't look real hard, but the body is available to buy from Wayne through his site?
I'm gonna go take a better look.

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Here's the back, definitely more SD-style. Legally or illegally, not many people get the route or stripes exactly right.

That rear cavity looks a bit different to me than expected.
Is this the original rear cavity route on Eds bumblebee or is it someone elses creation?
Thanks.

Good news gang.
I just got a chance to check my e-mail (work second shift hours) and Wayne's son Mike responded. They can provide me an exact VH2 bumblebee body with the original rear cavity, as shown in the pic of this thread. Yeah, I'm happy very pumped indeed for my bumblebee project.
I want to say a big thanks to all of you that responded and for pointing me to Wayne. Now to create a template or something, for the stripe pattern for the front and back.
I'm really gonna weigh my options carefully for the neck.
Its gotta be to Ed's specfications.
Type of frets, not sure of the neck profile for this just yet. I may have to settle with a wolfgang profile, the specfic neck radius and etc.
Either go with Warmoth or the ebay route, or someone else.

Well, if you want it to be correct, you have to paint the neck black, headstock and back of neck. This is how it was originally delivered by Charvel. Ed later sanded the back of the neck.
Mike
Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

I'm guessing he is going to paint it himself because of what he said in his post. If that is the case no need to create a template. Just use painters tape. Paint the base color... tape were you want the stripes... then spray the black and remove the tape or so I'm told.
