    Awesome.
    I love Standards.
Hamer won't do locking tuners anymore either, so that's a very special piece.

Sure they will. They'll even do a version with 24 frets, if you're willing to pay. You just gotta find the right dealer.

Hamer is the most finiky company to deal with ever!! One day it`s yes, the next No and then.......... #1, they hate their past now, so no bolt ons or shredders per say, like my favorite the set neck Hamer chapp Custom(I know, I asked, big NO). They may do a Floyd on a current model on the right day. I have almost given up on them, except used ones. The Standard and the Studio Custom are the only current ones left that I like. Jack.

Actually, talked to Jol and Frank R.and got the big "No" on the locking tuners.
If my dealer could have gotten them I would have a Hamer in the queue for 06.

                Thanks guys!

Yes. Ebony board. Very tight grain.

You could always just buy a set of locking tuners and install them yourself. Schaller keys have the same bolt holes as there locking tuners. Same with Grovers. I know that is a pain in the ass and I have no idea why they would not do the upgrade but it is a prtty easy mod to do yourself.

It bugs the hell out of me that they don't take pride in the history the laid down as a company that could build a great bolt on/ 80's shred guitar.

I have had a few older 80's Hamers and I liked them all. My favorite was the Diablo. Those rocked!

You are absolutely right that I could do it myself, but why?
It's not a big change for them and I even offered to supply the tuners.

I can't see spending the money for a custom guitar and then having to mod it to be what I like anyway.

Enjoy that Hamer, Did you happen to get it from Lost art Vintage in NJ? Al's is a good guy. Jazz type of player.

                        BELLMAWR NJ.
I think he originally ordered that one up.
He has a ghost flame standard still in inventory.

Interesting. I got a quote for a 24-fret Monaco last year with locking tuners (from Al at Lost Art Vintage). Guess they changed their mind on what options they'll do again. LOL
I had other things come up and sadly couldn't place the order, but I want to order a custom from them eventually.
