My next guitar was a Kalamazoo by Gibson. It was this horrible red metalflake strat that weighed a ton and sounded like ass. It was terrible. I don't even think it was wood.
My first real guitar (after at least 4 years of playing shit) was a pretty decent Guild S300D. My first real amp was a Peavey Renown 2 x 12 combo.
My first stage amp was a Traynor 1/2 stack. It was a 100w SS head and the cabinet had 6 10" speakers in it. We used to cook it weekly because both guitar players would plug into it at the same time. I think even the bass player was plugged in at one time. Good thing my best friends dad was able to fix it every week.
Ah.... the good old days.

oh i hear ya, man! when the maxitone was on it's way out with me, my dad made me a deal that if i got a B average in school, he'd spring for a used electric guitar. i did the work, got the grades and a midnight blue 1983 bc rich nj warlock with a hard case for 239.00. soon after, my grades got me an amp; a peavey classic 60w combo. all i remember was that it had a phasor and some other effect built in. oh, and the blue knobs. oh, those hideous blue knobs!

My first real gigworthy amp was also a Traynor, I had the YC-610 cab like you described, but the YBA-1A Bass Master tube head. That was actually an awesome amp! The circuit is handwired PTP and a cross between a Fender Bassman and a JTM45! You couldn't get a lot of drive without cranking crazy loud, but my bass player had a full SVT stack, so guess what? I also had 2 LPB2s and a Big Muff for distortion at lower volumes, and an EH Memory Man that also overdrove the input of the Traynor. I nailed the early Rush sound of Fly By Night through 2112 with that amp and my '65 SG Standard.Ron is the MAN!!!!

My first guitar was this black piece of crap with a built in amp from..Sears? First electric I should say. It was short scale, probably 24.75. It was remarkably easy to play on but the bridge was horrible, if you used the whammy bar more than a little it would bust every string.
That guitar might not be all that bad!
