  • LP Standard Faded

    Guys,

Anyone have any experience with these. I've been GAS'ing for an LP lately and came across one amazingly cheap at a local store. I kinda like the concept of the satin finish, uncovered p/u's, sanded neck. Just curious how they're holding up, compared to 'regular' standards.....Tone wise it was a touch brighter to my ears, how do they compare to other LP's....

    Thanks,

    Bill

GC is blowing em out. I like em a lot..... Identical to the new std's but they are a Touch brighter....

No brainer at $600 or so less than a regular standard. Pups are great and personally I think the light finish makes the guitar breathe and sound a bit better than regular standards. I think a higher percentage of LP fadeds sound good as compared to regular standards. I had one for a bit.

I've not played one, but I think they look really cool.....

I play one now. They sound very good. Matter of fact when I bought the guitar it sounded better than any LP at GC that day. They were inexpensive for a minute GC was blowing out the 05 stock. But they are back up to the regular price tag now. With ALL the USA Gibsons you have to look them over good now cause they are using two piece backs on the Standards, Classics etc etc . Not all, but some. The flame tops also vary greatly as does the bridge/stop-tail height. The QC requirments are a bit laxed as opposed to the CS LPs. But if you look them over good...you could find a VERY nice one. The Vintage Mahogany is a very good sounding LP also for VERY LITTLE dollars. I put up some pictures of mine.
