  • New Carvin 727

Just got her yesterday, after an extended wait. Maple top with triple step blue stain, mahogany body and two piece tung oiled mahogany neck. Trem w/top lock, and stainless steel medium jumbo frets.
Far better sounding than my previous alder 727s, the stock pickups really come alive in the mahogany.

Nice. The quilt especially came out really well.
I like Carvins (and I'm expecting one from them soon, although it's been stuck in the body section for about 3 or 4 weeks) but I'm not a fan of the paint where the body meets the oiled neck. Maybe I'm just used to the Jacksons that have an arch.

Congrats, Very cool 7. I'm still liking mine ALOT. The best thing is that it's an easy transition from the carvin 7 to my 6 strings and back. That was not tthe case with my Ibanez.

Very nice. The 747 I played last week in San Diego at Carvin's store felt nice. I'll bet that one you got is the tits.

                Very nice.

Mahogany neck? I never thought mahogany could be so maple-like in color. It must weigh quite a bit?

                Congrats.

Thanks guys, it's the triple step blue, not the standard blue. It's a very light shade of mahogany, but mahogany it is. getting the wood for the neck help up the start date just over two months. It's a really nice guitar, and sounds fantastic even with the stock pickups.
