  • anyone have the schecter C1 hellraiser?

I was looking around e-bay and found one of these in a past sale. did some research on it and it looks like a guitar with solid parts.

    Original FR

    EMG 81/85 Set

    Set neck

    Schecter guitars all look good.

Reviews at Harmony central are high.

    all for $799 street price

So whats wong with this guitar?

I mean you simply can't find a new guitar with a real FR and EMG set for under a grand...right?

can someone give me a review?

You are 100% correct. Its a great guitar and a great value. I played several of the C-1's and they are all great.
Its one heck of a guitar for the price and if it was made in the USA it would cost $1700.00+

Maybe that's why? Are they made in Korea?

I've looked at them too. Not too bad looking, but I prefer pointy headstocks (you never know when you need to turn vampire slayer LOL!).

        They are made in Korea.
I think that Schecter probably has the best imports I have ever seen.
        Other noteable import brands are:
        PRS
        ESP
        Anderson

I have an ESP LTD Deluxe H-1000. It came from the Korean factory with:

        Mohagony body
        Thick flamed top
        Tone Pros locking bridge
        Earvana compensated nut
        Sperzel Locking tuners
REAL Seymour Duncan Zebra's (59 and a JB)
Abaloni EVERYWHERE including body, fret markers, even the fretboard and the headstock are bound in it.
        24 Xtra Jumbo frets
        set neck
        Dual action truss rod
It is a beautiful looking, sounding and playing guitar. No shit.
Made in Korea. I would never be able to tell if it wasn't stamped.

The Schecter Korean imports are great! I've got a 7-string (007 Elite, H/S version) and I love it. It's got Grover tuners, locking Tone Pros bridge, mahogany body and neck, maple top. It only cost me $500. It came with Duncan Designed pups which sounded okay, but they were a little weak in output for me. I changed the neck pup to a DiMarzio Blaze single and the bridge to a Duncan Custom and am much happier with the sound now.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

            thanks for the input.

I'm going to show my son them and maybe see if he's interested in trying one out sometime (probably not, because at 16YO anything Dad says seems dumb I guess).

As for being made overseas, I have no issues there personally.

I have a Charvel traditional that was made in Japan thats a nice piece (getting it new off e-bay for under $250 may make me biased to it though).

My son has a charvel A+ pro model thats same build quality as the other. Both guitars are steals for the money (A+ cost $359 new, blowout deal).

I also picked up one of the Minarik Diablos models in the first year run (serial #000035). Made in Korea I assume, but with top of the line parts and all guitars are gone over and set up in the Minarik custom shop. it holds up very well to most mid-level USA made guitars. Check out some of the models at their website..if your into BC Rich type stuff..you may like the Minariks'.

The Schecters look like the next one I'll try to find..of course I'll wait for them to clear out NOS somewhere or to find a steal used on Ebay...cause I'm sooo cheap!

            thanks again for the replys.

I found my hellraiser C7 in this here forums classifieds and absolutely love it. Doesn't have the fretwork of my slsmg, but sounds massive and plays great! Stock as a rock and happy with it.
