GMW nut width question

Hello, I haven't been a memeber here in quite some time. So, I guess I'm a newbie.

I'm interested in picking up another GMW, but I'm not sure if the nut width of 1-3/4 would be comfortable for me. MY current one is 1-11/16 and I've played on 1-5/8 (axis). I love the way my 1-11/16 feels, but their are slim pick'ns of GMW's out there so when you see one that meets your criteria you got to jump on it. But, I'm not sure a 1- 3/4 neck meets that criteria for me. It would suck to get a GMW that I didn't like. I'm not interested in ordering one new, because I want to stay w/ the traditional fender headstock.

What nut widht do you guys prefer on your GMW guitars?

I think I answered this on the HCAF

1 3/4 for me. You shouldnt have an issue as the profiles of the necks are the same, just a hair wider at the nut. I say take a chance...if you dont like it its not like you couldnt sell it for what you bought it for....

1 11/16 for me but wouldn't mind of 1 5/8 as that's what I used to use until I swiched to 1 11/16.
As long as the neck is not too thick and comes with jumbo frets, nut width isn't a big deal to me though.

I really enjoyed 1 3/4 nut on my last GMW. I thought it played very well. i know that some boutique guitars designed specifically for beginners are designed with a 1 3/4 nut. I suppose it makes it easier to do simple chords without accidentally muting strings that should ring. People who switch back and forth with a classical guitar will also prefer the wider nut.

I think a narrower neck width might have slight advantages when you are doing more complex chording and are using more sophisticated muting techniques.

But honestly, i'm the same as toru, it's really not a big deal for me either. On the other hand, the person I sold the GMW to (kmanick) won't play anything BUT a 1 3/4 now.
