Once your guitars are older than you are, you will realize that there is wood and then there is "wood". I have an old parlour guitar that is "flamed maple" in the back. It is "book matched". It makes all the newer "Flamed" LP's look like a cheap pin-stirped suit. Whether it is an acoustic or an electric guitar, wood does make does make a big difference.

Just got the guitar. Plywood bod. But it has a sweet short scale 24 frett neck. I have plans. It's actually a very nice piece of shit.
