So thats the tremolo series! I never knew the story behind those. Only that the ones I saw were all neck thru and that they went for considerably more than what you would think. I tried for years to get a stealth for a good price (neck thru) but eventually gave up. They seem to be one of the most sought after. Its a great body shape IMO, It reminds alot of the warrior but more elegant because its not very pointy, it has alot of "flow" to it. Part of why I sort of hate BC Rich right now is their new body designs are more like dumb looking medieval weapons than guitars. Point is fine, but they take it to a whole other level. To an extent I saw that in Pablo's new custom shop designs for Jackson but as long as those aren't production models I am fine with it. Trying to hard to be extreme just makes for a body that looks like a giant axe/canopener.

I hear ya sully, I had an old gunslinger too and as I have said many times getting rid of that old BCR was (one) of the worst mistakes I made. That and the JPM are two guitars I would very much like to have back. But what I meant was the bolt ons have been one the best bang for buck guitars for a couple years now, the bolt on ones are often ignored simply because they are bolt on. And really for no good reason, they are just as nice as the neck thru ones in many respects. I do find it funny that NJ was a designation for japanese made yet at some point they were no longer made in japan. In fact they still have the NJ series and to this day I don't think they are made in Japan. Maybe it should be called the NC series?

The (hand-made) Stealths I have played have been the most comfortable guitars ever. And yes, that includes a Warrior! The '04 balances better than anything I've touched...
What I define as "clunky" (sorry I was vague with that term) was off balanced. My particular Stealth was head-heavy, and dove for the floor. And it was the only Rich I owned in the 10+ years I collected and played them, that was like that..and I never took a pic of it, I didn't have it long enough. I messed with strap button placement too (being it was already modified when I bought it) to no avail. I won't count the entire line of Steaths out just because of that one guitar. You'll always get a couple duds in every batch produced...coming from personal experience.

And thanks, Tom...for that little defending add-on! *nod*
Yep, I did work for Class Axe

I hate it when they stretch original guitar designs to make them into basses. Jackson did the same thing to make a Warrior bass.

The proper hand-made vintage Stealth Basses look gorgeous. Here's one

Unfortunately, with BC Rich the imports have always been different in shape. Sometimes majorly (like with this early NJ bass). 21 frets too...yeck.

            That is nice(r) looking Sanc....
I forgot seeing Stealth basses being it was always the elusive model when I was collecting. I recall the early NJ's and below (Platinum, etc...) were shaped different than their US counterparts.

Ok, the question I have.. are some of the NJ's with USA plates? or do just a few have USA plates? Is it kinda like certain model series being MIJ but some were assembled here?

There was a beautiful silver one (w/full electronics) on the 'bay a couple of weeks ago. Went for around $1400 from memory...

Its funny, but I remeber an NJ warlock that a buddy had back in the day. Nothing fancy and very well made and played killer. Another sleeper which took off cuz most have kinda cool 80s graphics is the gunslinger. Very SD style unfinished neck. I was drooling over a bomber graphic that was on the bay a few years back but could not get around the $1200+ the guy wanted for it.

Well this can hardly be considered the best "bang for the buck" guitar...

At any rate, it's an awesome tribute to Chuck....that alone is worth it. I bet the guys at the custom shop built it exactly for that purpose.

It would be very cool if BCR did a limited Chuck tribute Stealth.
(I believe that's already been talked about here on several occasions)

                          Chuck Schuldiner...
He was the guitarist/vocalist of the band DEATH, and guitarist for Control Denied.

He died after a long fight with a brain stem tumor December 13th 2001

He played BCR Stealths exclusively for about 90% of his professional career.
