you bet.. to me the Hydra shape was a very era related guitar...I've always taken a partiality to them even tho they're a bit oddball...and I bought this one in because its in yellow.
Not to change from the owners V.. but seeing a Hydra way back then when they were pretty much a 'concept' guitar.. very cool.
A guy used to play a Charvel Hydra around here. Donny Donaldson..probably an '81 as I saw him live with one around then so it may have been a early San Dimas or even a pre pro. He played with Yanni in Chameleon.
I'm recalling it as white..strat headstock.
Back to the V.. can you share the serial? I'm curious where the numbers are at on this.
That V is the closest I've seen to the mythical "Gunslinger" V that was hanging in a local guitar store many years ago. That was also black, but with a single pickup, maple board and reverse head. I wish I'd had the money at the time....
