A colleague of mine has just bought an RG350 (not sure if it's the EX or DX). What's your opinion on these?

Too many people on this board like Ibanez bashing. I know one person who won't come on the forum anymore because of it.
Wilkinsi, i haven't played an RG350, but I've played several RG's and have a 91 rg560 and 02 rg570. and they were all great sounding, high quality. I can find some issues with just about any guitar from my Gibson to my Charvels and Ibanezes etc
Check your mates lock nut height. Many Ibanezes (and some Charvels) have the nut too high. Ibenezes usually have shims under the nut that are easy to remove. The edge III trem is great (brilliant)
Max (Ibanez wanker) Boost lololol

Thats the basics of it.
The Prestige are considered their professional models. They make some great guitars. The Prestige models are really nice, and the RG5XX series and up are also nice guitars.
The RG1XX, RG2XX, RG3XX, and RG4XX series are low-end gutiars. Some people tend to forget this, and they pickup these Ibanez and aren't impressed. Well. . .thats because they're the budget models! Big surprise there, what do you expect? Custom Shop quality on a $300 guitar? They're like MIM stratocasters, their in that same "niche" Some of them may play real nice, some of them won't, but they're still made cheaply in a developing country using cheaper parts and cheaper wood.
When you want a good example of Fender's quality, you go and pick up an American made stratocaster. You dont pick up a squier or a MIM strat. Same goes for Ibanez, if you want to see what Ibanez is all about, you play a Prestige model, not a RG350.
Some people dont like them because of their overall designs. Some people like big ole guitars with big fat necks. . .and those people are not likely to be impressed by a small, light guitar with a thin neck. Common sense.

it cost him £299. I think that's the RRP over here anyway. It has the Edge III bridge but I suspect I could be landing another BCRich equivalent so I'll avoid it.Fuck ebay, fuck paypal

RG4xx and below are made in Korea or China. The Prestige guitars made in Japan are the Ibanezes you want to spend your hard earned bucks on. The Japanese (as we all know) make a fine guitar. The Ibanez RG7's are certainly among the best 7 strings you can buy.Courtesy, Integrity, Self-control, Perseverance, Indomitable Spirit

I wasn't Ibanez bashing, I was giving my honest opinion. I had never played an Ibanez, didn't know anything about em, I bought it because I liked the looks of it, and didn't have a store that carried one so I could try it first. So I got a bad one...I sold it. It happens. I know Ibanez builds some great guitars like every other mfg. Like I said my friend really likes his. I paid less for my DK2 and it plays much better, again, that's just me.

I just like bashing on the name LOL!
I've seen some Ibanez guitars that look pretty cool (high end neck thrus or Jems), but if I were to spend my $$$'s, I'd throw it at a MIJ Jackson from the early 1990's. An old Fusion, Soloist Pro, RR Pro, or Kelly Pro all kick ass. You get the bound ebony fretboard, and the MOP sharkies, and a great feeling neck. It just looks badass.
You still get great features with newer MIJ Jacksons, I love the tone of my DK2 even with the stock pickups, but I like the 1990's thinner necks a little better.

I said LOLOL at the end of my post. Too lazy to do the happy face thing. I didn't mean to sound too serious. lol. I love to hear different qualified opinions. But, some people bash things just because of some prejudice or because they don't like some of the pro's who play them or don't like them because they are so popular etc
It was really some Other threads where people Really ibenhad bash.
Guitarsjb, I'm curious, what was it that felt cheap about the Ibe you had.

You know, I think the attitude toward Ibanez has gotten a lot better around here in the past year or so. There was a time when it seemed that the very mention of the word "Ibanez" could get you shouted down.
Personally, I think they're great guitars for the money. I had an RG520 a few years ago that was killer (I did, however, sell it to buy a Jackson ).
