Overall, in an unbiased opinion, do you like the feel of the Ibanez Wizard necks or the Jackson necks. I haven't tried alot of Ibanez guitars out, but from what I have played I personally like my DK2's neck better.

I like 'em both. I have a couple of Ibanez guitars with the Wizard neck and a DK-2. If I had to pick I'd say I prefer the DK-2's neck thickness. I like the extra bit of tone you get from a thicker neck.------------------------------------------------

I like 'em both too. I have a cheappy Ibanez DT200 Destroyer, but it has the wizard neck profile (they did that for only one year on the first run).
I've owned a slew of USA and Japanese Jacksons as well, and above all, love the KV/Soloist/Warrior profile the best. The RR profile is a bit meatier, and my tastes fall towards thinner necks.

I never had an Ibanez.

The thin necks make my hands cramp too. The thinnest neck I can handle is my RR1.

You can play their ribs like a xylophone.

The original wizard profile was too thin, but the wizard 2 is a good feel to me. BTW, if you order a Warmoth neck with the "wizard" profile, you don't get the old style "ultra thin" one, it's more like a wizard 2 (which is almost the same as a DK2 neck). My goal in life is to be the kind of asshole my wife thinks I am.

Not only are the Ibanez necks thinner, but they feel a little "flatter" to me.
I owned an Ibanez RGT220 for a while, couldn't get used to the "flat" neck profile, and got rid of it.
My favorite neck is the one from my 1988 USA Dinky. I've had it on three bodies so far, and whatever guitar has that neck on it gets the most play time.
I like the necks on my Model Series Charvels, too, although they feel just a tad fatter than the aforementioned Dinky neck.Last edited by QuantumRider; 06-27-2006, 12:10 AM.Until you get weaned off the boobie, you are going to have to do what the wife wants too. -Rsmacker
