It plays great! I love the fatter, rounded '59 neck profile on it, too. It's also got an aluminum diamond plate pickguard on it that really doesn't show up in the pic.

I've wired up an 18 volt EMG81/EMG-S in a Charvel Fusion Deluxe. I wired up an EMG81/85 + SPC boost in my Kelly Star, but not enough room for 2 9 volt batteries.
I have 4 Les Pauls, but (curse me) I go with the OEM pickups. I love the way LP's sound with the stock Gibson pickups. The Les Paul is a powerful guitar, and as such, I think it does well with PAF style pickups (although lately I'm really digging my LP Classic with the 496R/500T high output ceramics).
I'll have to buy a ZW LP in order to try out EMG's in an LP. But I do agree, it makes perfect sense to put EMG's in there from what I know of EMGs (bright) and LP's (dark).

It's funny, I've had the axe since Dec. 2002, but just recently I'm really liking the 500T in it. Before it was a love/hate it, and I was swapping in '57 Classics every other week. I finally stuck with the high outputs because they are 4 conductor, and I have push/pull pots in the tone controls to split the coils.Last edited by DonP; 06-29-2006, 10:45 AM.
