I played a Wolfgang Standard (USA made one) and it had the nicest feeling neck I have ever felt. Didn't buy it at the time because I didn't have that kind of money. I haven't played an HP Special yet, so I don't know if the neck feel or specs will be the same (doesn't the Wolfie have a compound-radius?). I do know that I like the body shape of the HP a little better.
Now, that being said, the closet thing to the Wolfie neck that I've found is on my early model Wayne guitar. No, its not an actual Charvel, but it is an extremely high quality copy of the Strat-head SD by the guy who started it all, and the neck feels fantastic. The Wolfgang neck is slightly thinner and has an oil finish (I think) as opposed to the satin finish of the Wayne.
I believe that Peavy has a custom shop for the HP as well. So if you plan on spending a lot of money, you can at least get the guitar just how you want it, like the Charvel.
