I dunno, I've read jemsite forums yapping on about how they hate anything other than Ibanez, I guess I just assumed I'd find that here as well. Well, not the love for Ibz, you know what I mean
Hanging out on jemsite or saying you like Ibanez will get you banned another half a week LOL!!!

Yes, on this forum we appreciate all things guitar, even ibeenhad's and blenders LOL!

Well... I had to do some research on an old JEM that was too cheap to pass up, so I thought what site better to inform me? About 90% of it is a lot of wasted space though really. I also felt compelled to read up abit about Steve Vai since I was after all getting one of his sigs. Just like I'm doing some Marty Friedman homework on my Kelly at the moment

I like how they describe the SG-X, 22 frets and you can clearly see 24 LOL. I will have to measure the neck to see if it is 24 or 25 now when i get it. But yes it does look like an X, but what confuses me is according to Don it is a 1994.

According to the webpage "*The All American 1 SG was how the SG-X began. It was introduced as the All American 1 in 1995 and was renamed the SG-X in 1998, but the specs did not change, only the name"

So now, if this is truly a 94, then what does it make it if the All Americans only started in 95?

            Awesome SG- great score!!

This is my '82 SG Firebrand that I bought new- EMG 58 in the bridge, H in the neck:

            Sounds and plays incredibly.

Looks great, especially how the EMGs change the look, makes it sleeker/darker somehow.

Those guitars rock! Definately dump the EMG. Congrats!

I have been yearning for an SG-1/X for a while now, a set neck 1 hum guitar just appeals to me!! Jack.

Sweet! Gorgeous guitar. I still have my original pickups, it came with exposed hums- all black neck and a zebra bridge. Maybe I'll put them back someday.

You've kept it stock all these years, and now you're going to F with it? LOL! Leave it stock.

I'm a bit curious as to what pickups you have in there. I'm guessing Pat. No. stamped, but might also be epoxy filled.

If it's not too much trouble, could you snap a photo of the backs? And if you can, take a DC reading (just plug in a jack and dime the controls method).

Guitar came in today and sounds excellent and plays great. Still going to change out the EMG and put back in a 500T which i already ordered. I am going to set up the switch so i can have the pickup either in series, parallell or coil split.
