I always heard that PRS will not do any dragon other than their official dragon models, not even in their private stock series, is this an aftermarket paint ? (I see that there are at least 2 models, hardtail trem)

Here is the story on these:

In 2004 I met Paul Reed Smith at a charity event in the Baltimore area. As a result of this meeting, I ended up working with Paul to design a line of SE guitars.
These are not your average SE guitar! When I asked Paul what he would suggest that I use as a design, he went to his office and took a painting off of his wall. It was a picture of "Jenna's Dragon". He then showed me the painting and said " People have been asking me to make a SE dragon for years" he further stated that while he had no intention of ever doing so, in this case he would since we were only making 20 of these beauties.
The body and neck were made in Korea and the hardware was manufactured by Excel machine Shop in Baltimore. Due to the fact that this was special hardware and the body had to be remachined to accept it, the guitars took almost 2 years to complete. However, they were delivered in 2005 - PRS's 20th anniversary.
              Specs:
€ Grateful Dead skeleton on the headstock
              € PRS truss rod cover
              € No SE logo
€ Numbered and signed by Paul himself
              € Half with Tremolos
              € santana silhouette
              € covered humbuckers
              € three-way with push-pull pot
€ Blue Dragon from Jenna's Eye's on the cover
€ Mixed nickel and gold hardware
              € adjustable stoptail bridges

Well, the first generation Santana SE models had bound necks, but different markers.

That's the only thing I don't like. They clash with each other. It should be only one or the other.

If the head was 4" lower and they used a red tone knob, it could be Rudolf.

The Dragon Series reminds me of the dorky virgins that would hang out in the library at lunch time in junior high, playing Dungeons and Dragons.
