+1 Plug it using a hardwood dowel plug. You can get a piece of dowel and cut a plug using an X-acto razor saw. You may have to use a round file or Dremel with a small diameter sanding arbor, and glue it in. Re-drill the hole to size, most likely 3/8" diameter (brad point drill bit) and put a new trim ring over the top. If you were closer to me I'd do it for ya for nada!

I had my friend wire it, theres a killswitch, 2 push pull pots, regular volume pot, and a tone pot inside the cavity. I'm still trying to master it on how I have it set.

My friend never really worked on Les Pauls or paid attention to him so he put the pickups in wrong and I didn't bother changing them. I'll to it next string change and I hope I have enough wire to flip them.

Why would the pups be out of phase like that? It's just the pole pieces are the opposite way, turned upside down, no big deal. They'd have to be wired differently to be out of phase, not just put in "upside down/backwards". I had a Kelly with a J50N that had the adjustable pole pieces on the bottom, and the EVH Wolfgang neck pup was like that, also.

what i meant was that in general, that guitar has just had a rough life; i wasn't referring to anything you've done to it. it does look a lot better now. sorry man!

for the switch, just get a really thin washer and put it under the switch cover and tighten it down. it'd be easier then redrilling it..

Is there a pic of what it looked like before? Also, what's a good Gibson forum? JCF is the place for J/Cs, I like Jemsite for Ibanez info, and I found fenderforum a few months ago. But for Gibsons the only one I've looked at is the one that looks like it's within the Gibson site. I didn't care for the way it was setup. Like if you look under electric guitars, all the threads are just listed, there's no categories!

Here's the only Gibson forum I know of. I don't think it has anything to do with Gibson's site. http://www.lespaulforum.com/finalframes/frameset.htm

Or get a machinist to make a bushing for it

+1 for NOT dowelling and redrilling. Something super simple and practically free could look good, also would be reversible if you change your mind.
