  • Coolest junior/kids guitar???

Does anyone know of any really cool junior size guitars for kids? My 8 year old son is learning to play but he doesn't like the "mini strat". He wants something with a tremelo and "pointy tips" So, what other choices are out there?

at 8 yrs old I wouldn't waste my money or time on a 3/4 scale guitar. I just got my daughter a full scale Carly (Sam Ash brand, but they did this one pretty good) guitar for girls, it's an acoustic electric that is perfect for her, with a smallish body but a regular 25.5 scale neck. I think at that age the 3/4 scale is already too small.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

Epiphone made a Mini Flying Vee. My 6 year old has that, along with a mini LP Jr, also from Epi.

A mini Vee was just sold in the Classifieds for $60 shipped - I was very tempted, damn good deal, but I really don't need it.

No trems in any micro sized axes I know of, but they might be out there. Or, do it yourself.

My 4 year old Daughter making a noise one her Mini B.C.Rich Warlock

She can't play it,and the damned thing has a rather loud built in amp and speaker, powered by a 9volt battery

You can't buy them new anymore, but they do turn up on Ebay from time to time, particularly in Germany for some reason?

It even has a Truss rod and the Neck is Straight!

I do know that Fernandes makes these

You would have to find a Japanese shop that will sell and ship it to you though,as B.C.Rich would go mental if Fernandes sold them outside of Japan,so they are Japanese market Only

Have you played one? Otherwise that's just two random reviews - one good, one bad. Not exactly a definitive sample set.

Lorne that's a great pic of your daughter, Very cute!
What about a Strat Junior? I bought one for traveling. It's very good quality. You could put a Kahler trem on a Junior pretty easily including a humbucker. With some additional routing you could put a OFR on the guitar!

                            Don,
It arrived yesterday. I'm thinking about doing a silver cracked mirror top on it.

Check out the guitar Hippie Tim built for his little shredder. Built from sized down USACG parts - super sweet guitar.
