  • ESP MII ready finally!

A few weeks ago I sent my ESP MII off the GMW guitars so Lee and Dan could give it the Adrenalize paint job. Well Lee emailed me last night and said it's ready to go. In fact it'll ship out today instead of Thursday like he first thought. Man I am so jacked for it to arrive. Here's a before pic of the MII:

and here's what it will look like upon arrival (minus the inlays)

Oh and something else. Is it difficult to change tremolos from a Kahler to a OFR?

My MIIs Kahler is a little beat up and to keep the whole guitar looking new I was thinking about swapping it out for something new,

Bloody hell that was quick, if you really meant "A few weeks ago".....
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

I'm guessing that's "a few weeks" by Lee's time table. LOL. Can't wait to see it though.

My MII has a Kahler Steeler, I'm guessing yours does also. The stud spacing on the Steeler and OFR are the same, so an OFR should drop in.

By the way, would have been cooler if you had the maple board MII. You should buy this one and swap necks (plus it has a nice Kahler you could swap also):

I doubt it'll stay at that price for lone. I got my MII off of ebay for $425. Don't ask me how nobody else jumped on it because it's a great guitar.

Actually the turnaround on my MII was only a few weeks. I believe I sent it late July/early August. I sent it off a week or two before I bought my PC1.

Should I go OFR or jsut replace the Kahler? This is an early 90s Kahler so I don't know if it's a Steeler or not. I don't even know what a Steeler is to begin with.

A Kahler steeler is what's on the ESP MII ebay link I posted above. I have a white w/maple board MII with the Kahler. I'm pretty sure yours would be the same.
Here's a link showing all info on the Steeler so you can compare vs. yours:

It seems I do have a Steeler but mine is different. The tremolo arm screws into the hole differently. Mine also says ESP on the top.

The ebay link shows an ESP logo on he bridge. Did the Kahler Steeler come stamped with the ESP brand name?

                        Don't replace the steeler!!!!

The Kahler Steeler is FAR superior to a Floyd..better tone, better materials, and pretty sought after now that Mr.Rose placed a cease and desist on Kahler

Just my 2 cents.....but there is a reason why Tom Anderson prefered them over Floyds as well

Yeah I think you're right. The more I look into this and see the expense and trouble involved I think I'll stick with what I have.

Anybody have suggestions on how to touch up the paint job on it? As you can see from the closeup it's got a few nicks and scratches on it that I'd like to cover over.

                              Bryan,
keep an eye out on ebay...the steelers pop up from time to time. I've gotten mint ones for as low as $40-45.
