  • Pimp my strat!

So, after having my SLSMG as my main for a while, we will start gigging, and I need to bust out the Strat as a backup/swap out guitar.

Its an off-white mid-90's mexican squire strat with chrome hardware (stock). As it sits, it has a lil 59 in the neck, and a hotrails in the bridge. The middle pickup is stock, as I dont use it... much. All this considered, it plays like a champ, and has the sound to boot.

I have this pickguard on it currently (the blue one)

Now that you have an idea of the cosmetic state of this guitar, what to do about the bridge and tuners?

I was thinking about black hardware, might kinda bring the color scheme together. That being said, what do ya's think about the black flame bridge

Sadly, I'm not quite sure what my options are as far as bridges go, I'm not certain what will screw right in, or what will require body modifications.

Spose I'm looking for input on bridges, and tuners. And hopefully some attitude

    Pimp it!

I say if it plays and sounds great the way it is, and you want to change things purely for cosmetic reasons, leave her be!
Or dump the flames, throw a mint colored pickguard on it and go for the Jimi vibe, you can't get more pimp than that.
      Just my $.02

Hehe, my post count isnt a good indicator of my attendance at this badass corner of the net. I've grown to enjoy most of the hazing that takes place here

As far as the mojo goes, the bridge and tuners are just janky pieces 'o shite that could stand a good upgradin'. I'm assuming (probably wrongly..) that replacing both of these wouldnt affect the sound much, if at all. Maybe add/subtract sustain and slight boost/cut in some highs?

At any rate, they do need to be replaced, theyre the last stock items on the guitar aside from the body and neck.
