This one was a virgin not a scratch or ding.I don't think a screw had been turned hell the original 9 volt battery was still in there as was the paper protective cover on the electronics cavity cover. The trem is perfect not a speck of deterioration.Frets are perfect.
This one is an 87 anniversary model in sky blue with black body binding. The 2 hum(active) was only made in 87.The anniversary models were only 87-88 according to catalog scans.
Its a very well made guitar and plays like butter. It may get an EMG 81 and 60 soon.Really? well screw Mark Twain.

There is a lefthanded westone Raider that I keep seeing around here for $275. Looks kinda like that Washburn Ace Frehley guitar. Not my thing, I thought westone was like "silvertone" - you know a sears/wards brand.
Sounds like I am wrong. When you take a shower in space, you have to press the water onto your body to clean yourself, and then you gotta vacuum it off. - Ace Frehley

Wasn't the Corsair the one Trevor Rabin used? I can never remember the name of that model.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

No Trevor Rabin used a Pantera model.I think his signature model was a Pantera 790.I had an 85 Pantera X350 and loved it alder body with a curly maple top, maple neckthru with rosewood stringers, ebony fingerboard, pearl inlay and two magnaflux alnico 5 hums.A very nice guitar.
The newer stuff is low end Korean and Chinese mfg.The Matsumoto (japan) plant stopped producing westones in 87- 88.AFAIK.
I love this corsair, poplar body, pointy headstock and fast as hell neck.Cool thats its a limited production guitar 1 year only and active pickups.( only model that had them as far as I can tell.)Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Anyone remember the late 80's early 90's Westone that had the crackle finish? What was that model? Reason is, is I remember that bridge pickup being some hard to find Dan Armstrong "Rock Monster" pickup and I had never heard anything like it at that time. Probably sounds like garbage now but back then I was wowed by the sound of it. Anyone else ever have an experience with this guitar/ mainly pickup?

-I have a Westone Paduak II model I got in 1982. One pickup, a Gotoh distortion with coil tap, and an onboard preamp. It came with a vintage trem which I replaced with a vintage style drop-in Rockinger. It was my main player for a couple of years as it was my only guitar with a locking trem from 1984 to 1987. I rarely play oit now because it really needs a fret dressing, but I love that thing!Ron is the MAN!!!!

For a single locking trem they work well. The base plate looks like a floyd (hardened steel)one piece. They string up thru the sustain block like a v trem.Mine works just as well as any floyd.Comes back to pitch perfectly.Really? well screw Mark Twain.
