  • Washburn George Lynch sig??

Wtf.. Some guy here in Norway claims to be selling a Washburn George Lynch signature guitar?? Apparently it's loaded with EMG sa/sa/81 (never seen Lynch ith emg's but the owner might like 'em) pickups, has a midboost and has a superstrat appearance, that's all the ad said.. No pics yet, I e-mailed him recently..
Since when did Lynch play Washburns? Is this total bullshit? I couldn't find any info on the net..
I was wondering if maybe it's a Washburn with a Lynch-like paintjob, but the ad actually reads "Washburn GL signature", and if it had been given a paintjob I see no reason for not mentioning it.. He's claiming it's a Gerge Lynch signature guitar made by Washburn.
This is something I sure never have heard about...
    Anyone?

Wouldn't be surprised, Lynch has sold his ass to the highest bidder everytime. One of these days you'll find George Lynch's own hot sauce at your local grocery store along with George Lynch's sugar corn pop cereal. You know... like Zakk Wylde.

Got any pics of it? Would be interesting to see.

My guess, he's talking about Greg Lynch, a Washburn endorser:

Yeah. That is my bet too. Though GL did coin the endorsacaster... i.e. his original yellow bengal... Hey at least he admits it and is kind of proud of it... lol.

I actually came close to buying a gl tigerstriped (is that the bengal?) ltd once lol.. I was obsessed with Dokken at the time, and the guitar was going pretty cheap too. Needless to say I didnt have the cash at the time.
Later I found out I was the only person who showed even a remote interest in that guitar

Well, that Greg Lynch model has two humbuckers.

The guitar in question is H/S/S with its EMG 81 and two SAs.

Nope, there were no Washburn GL´s. There were tigerstriped Washburns available, though.

Ok, just received a mail with some pics attached.. Mind, this time he didn't actually call it a George Lynch guitar, just a Lynch. Nevertheless, he called it a George Lynch signature guitar in the ad. Greg Lynch hasn't been mentioned yet.
He said it's from 90-91. Check out the headstock. I don't see a logo, do you? And what trem is that?
                      This smells homemade-style..
                      Your thoughts?

By the trem and the headstock, it's definitely an old Washburn.

If he'd be selling it as a normal Washburn, fair enough, but why use Lynch's name if he can't even prove it? That is beyond my comprehension

how does that thing have anything to do with lynch (not you guys, if its really a Washy Lynch, i don't see how George would've designed that)?

it doesn't look like anything he would use.
