  • Fernandes KV

Anyone know what the late 80's model Fernandes was, which was a dead-ringer for a King V? I remember the guitarist from a band called Shy (Shy-te) used to play a white one, but I do recall seeing a red one which gave me a serious woodrow!!
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

    I nearly broke her back

This is what he is looking for. How original he calls it the KING V.

I heard they were pretty good. We had a forum member do some custom work on his with awesome photos, but that was a long time ago. He loved his. They pop up from time to time for sale.

Rsmacker, if the King V copy plays as good as my Rhoads copy, it's great. I think the old 80s Fernandes are very good guitars.... some of the best Jackson copies I've ever played.
Mine has a soft maple body, which the early Jackson Rhoads' also used (I think) and it has a great tone. I'd love to grab a Fernandes King V copy if I could!

Here is a red one on ebay, but the wings look to be different lengths. Weird. The picture of the gig bag seems to confirm this. The floyd route looks weird too.
