It's an Ibanez 540 PII a somewhat rare body shape they only produced for a few years around 89-91' I think, theres a thread in the Ebay section I started about one on Ebay right now.

I had an ESP, but I sold it.. for a VERY nice amount, so I decided to pick up the LTD, which looks, sounds and feels exactly the same as the ESP (except I miss the ebony board). Only thing I need to do is change the pups to duel 81s.

Check out the size of the V.. compared to the Katana it's even funnier

The squiers are my fav guitars actually..

I was thinking of EVH striping in fluor yellow on the RG.. would be cool

So YOU'RE the one who scored those 2 Rands on Ebay! Very nice! I'm down to 1 Rand 27 and 2 Rand "which's" which I believe are both protos and may be the only 2 made. But who knows since it's almost impossible to find any info on them and I haven't been able to contact Rand H.

Yup it was me. The prototype black and white one was my dream guitar growing up. The guy I used to idolize as a player ordered it from Rand. He also ordered the "which" that you currently own as well as the purple V that Racer X has/had.

I just had to have the other Rand because there are not a lot of color combinations on Rands that I actually like. The black and purple seemed pretty cool to me.

As far as I know the "which" is a prototype. It may even be from the original run of guitars he made with the Misfits. Out of the 60 or so they made, most of them had warped necks and had to be scrapped. Speaking of the Misfits, check out this poster:

For what it is worth, there is some talk about putting up a Rand page over at vintagekramer.com.

I don't think the members here realize that Kramer Nightswans almost didn't exist. We could very well be talking about Rand's design as a Kramer production model.

If you recall, back in 1987 Vivian was playing custom guitars made by unknown builders at the time. Specifically Buddy Blaze and Rand Havener. Kramer chose Buddy Blaze to be their artist relations guy and to oversee the production of the Nightswan. That could have very well been Rand Havener instead.

I can only speculate that the Nightswan design was much cheaper to produce than the Rand design and they went that way instead.

I don't have an updated group shot(two guitars are having floyd surgery) but will post the one's I do have.

My '82 charvel-'05 charvel getting floyded-'06charvel switched to chrome floyd-'87 jackson getting a chrome floyd with a floyd nut installed.


I also have a blue jackson I scored on the bay. I think it's an '84 H-S


My latest project was discovered to have a flamed maple body! I bought it to save it and do a few mods...but once Marty Bell gets done spraying it the original transparent red, it'll be up for grabs.

This is how it used to look:


It was going to be sprayed pearl white...that was before i knew what was under there! So I decided to keep the flame visible and have it done in it's original color. Pretty cool that this was under there!
