  • Guess I commited the ultimate sin, huh?

Ok.. Time to confess my sin.
Walked into the local guitar store the other day, looked at the wall and spotted a "Guitar Workshop" guitar. This may sound like an amateur brand, but it's not, these are high-end custom guitars built right here in little Norway. Naturally they don't pop up that often (I've only seen one before and it disappeared really fast).
Anyway, took the guitar down. The first thing that struck me was how lightweight it was, it was really very light.
Sat down, played around with it, didn't even plug it into an amp.
BOOM! Thunderstruck. The neck, the feel, everything.. The thing had my name written all over it. Turned the guitar around, looked at the pricetag:
Roughly $1100, used. New price was closer to $2750 (very rough price estimates but it should be as close as I can get it).
My face turned into a whiter shade of pale. Thoughts running through my head: "I'm just a student, all I've got is my scholarship, don't even have a job. Forget about it." So I put the guitar back, and turn to leave.
That's when I catch the eye of the guy behind the counter. If you've been in a similiar situation, you'll know what that look means: "I knew you couldn't afford that guitar, you little punk".
My eyes turned red. Like hell if I was gonna let him win this one.. Not this time around!
I went home, looked at my Charvel and B.C. Rich, both MIJ's.
Fuck it. I took both guitars down to the shop same day.
After inspecting them the guy behind the counter (another one, not the previous cunt) says I can have the Guitar Workshop for (ca) $300 if i trade in the guitars.
DONE FUCKING DEAL. Just to see the look on the face of the eyeballing prick, it was well worth it. And the guitar plays like a dream to. So as far as I'm concerned I'm happy as can be about this deal. Yeah, I lost my Charvel.. But if I want another one I can sell the GW guitar and buy a far better one than I had before

Just thought I'd share my story with you people.. If anybody's interested I will try to post pics sometime soon. What I'm kinda worried about now though, is I kinda feel like I've lost the right to hang around here. Charvel/Jackson is kinda the soul purpose of this site.. So what do you guys and girl(s) think? Should I stop hanging around here because I don't have a Charvel/Jackson anymore? Your 2 cents please..

Thanks, I'll see what I can do about the pics.. The reason I asked is because I read something similiar some time ago and the response that guy got was pretty much: "Great guitar. Now fuck off" - people were probably just joking though, I just don't always seem to take jokes when I'm supposed to

I was joking too. Of course, you'd still be welcome here.

Yeah +1. Post some pics already. Stay on here. Sooner or later you will have 1, 2, 3 or more Jackson/Charvels.

There are very few guitars tat make the hair on my arms stand up. If tis was one of them for you, you did the right thing for yourself.

Sounds like you found the guitar of your dreams. It sucks to give up a couple of you other guitars, but it also sounds like you got the better of the deal. Way to go man!!

That was entertaining but I really expected some pics before I got to the last post. Can you put it down for a minute and take a pic?

Wow, I honestly didn't expect such a massive response! I mean, response is one thing, but you guys are actually interested, damn, I'm getting all fuzzy here
I'll have to borrow a camera off my roomie, he'll just have to be here at the same time as me so I can ask him first I'll get it done as soon as possible, promise.

Sanctuary: There's a thread or two here that has posts showing pics of my Charvel, do some searching and I'm sure you'll find it. It was kind of sad I traded in my BC Rich Eagle to, it was produced in 84 and I know they're not easy to come by anymore.. But I went with my gut, and all in all I'm more happy than sad, so.. Be happy for me
