...except for the headstock, sorry, I'm not a tele fan and that headstock has the tele vibe.

It reminds me of one of Steve Lukather's guitars, which he plays at the "Live At the Astoria" DVD. I think that was a Valley Art? Anyway, dig this guitar, thanks for the kind comments

Well, there are two ways to get revenge on a snobbish salesman: leave and never come back (they won't miss you when you're gone) or knock their socks off by buying something they know is out of your price range.
Of course, they will always think to themselves "He'll bring it back in a week/month because he can't afford to keep it".

But anyway, nice guitar, though I do have to ask what's the current going rate for an '84 BC Rich Eagle?
Could you have gotten more for it on Ebay, bought the GW, and kept the Charvel?

It's real simple. If you did what you did to get that guitar and you like it, that's all there is. You will get another Charvel or Jackson. To say that you don't belong on this board anymore is nonsense. Enjoy your axe and don't feel "guilty".

Hmm.. I'd have to have gotten somewhere between $400-500 for the Eagle for that to work.. And I don't think I would, concidering the shape of it. Even if I was lucky and someone bought it at at that price they'd probably have complaint when they got it, because it really wasn't in top shape.

Anyone know what wood the body is? Suggestions welcome, would be nice to know if I decide to swap pups one day

Pickups don't care what wood they're in, really, as long as there's enough wood on the body to keep the strings moving long enough to let the pickups do their thing (read: Steinberger).

And it's impossible to tell what wood it is from those pics. You need to take some outside in the day time with a clear shot of the wood. Several types of wood have similar grain patterns, and are mostly differentiated by their color.

I'll take a guess and say Ash if it's lightweight.

I had seen a black one in Strings and Things,but had never played it,so I went to check it out,knowing that if all else failed I could go to Akron in a month and have my pick. I walked in and looked around a little at first,letting the people at the counter get waited on before asking to check it out,it was hanging by the strap on a peg behind the counter. I knew before I walked in that this one was priced a little higher than some of the ones I had seen at Akron Music,despite it being solid black and some of the others had graphics,tagged at 2395.00. I asked the first available salesman to check out the black Soloist,and he snickered to himself and asked me "why,have you got 2400 in your pocket?". I looked at him with complete contempt and said "NO,I don't have 2400 in my pocket",as I pulled out a roll of mixed bills you could have plugged a toilet with,and said "as a matter of fact I have 4500". He gave me a look that suggested he felt a turd escape,and I walked out. A month later,I bought a black,Floyded SD Soloist with a bound board and dots,like Vai's yellow Eyeball and a Mesa Mark III for 3500 out the door and they ate the tax. Tommy D.
