Both doubles were made by Mike Lipe and painted by Dan Lawrence for Michael. Dean Z. sold me MAB's backup last year which was built in Oct. 2003. Michael has a new double guitar in the works via Dean (different paint scheme) and also a new 'Quad' guitar for display purposes only that will replicate the Ritz quad that was stolen from Michael in 1989 in El Paso, TX. He only recoved one half of the guitar, long story short.

Michael also has a new Dean signature model coming out soon and will be showcased at NAMM in January, 2007. Double cutaway, 24 frets , rosewood fretboard, floyd.

Cool story! Will the signature model be a double, quadruppel or single neck? My guess is it'll be a single neck, not many people can play with both hands that I know of anyway

Definately a single neck. I could get it priced out, but I'd have to keep it under wraps anyway.

Michael's going to shoot the prototype my way when he and Dean are done with it

That's awesome, you guys must be close Can you actually play that doubleneck guitar of yours properly? Must take a lot of practise I guess?

They actually sold a guitar signed by MAB in my town some months ago.. Unfortunately I didn't have the money at the time but it would be cool to have it. He'd written "I shredded on this guitar!" on it It was cool

'Properly' is the operative word when it comes to fluidity on the beast, lol

I consider MAB a friend, and vice versa. He's in Russia right now, then China, and finally a bunch of dates in the UK. I'm sure we'll talk when he gets back.

Man, is he incredible to watch on the fretboard. It's no wonder he's ranked the #1 shredder in the world. It's ridiculous! lol While he was here, he signed two other MAB-related guitars that I own. One another Dean single Mach VII, and my FM9 Michael Angelo Tradition, fwiw.

I´ll definitely be keeping an eye out for that new signature model. The american Deans are awesome.
