  • New Carvin Arrives - Wow, it's a Looker!

This is my second Carvin guitar, and both times have been a total pleasure. When I opened the case, it flat out knocked my socks off. Would you look at the f**kin' flame on this baby! Wow. 5A to the max - it's flawless. And the triple-step stain makes it look 3D. Awesome. The crappy indoor pics do not even come close to doing it justice.

Even better than all that, it plays like a mofo - an acoustic with shred 'cred.

    Specs:

    AC175 neck-through thinline acoustic/electric
Mahogany body and neck, graphite rod-reinforced
    Ebony fretboard w/abalone dot inlays
24 jumbo frets (real jumbos, not mediums)
Sperzel locking tuners (satin, which I promptly replaced with real chrome)
    L.R. Baggs PU
    Flamed maple top w/matching headstock
Deep Tiger's Eye triple-step finish (similar to the prototype versions of PC1 rootbeer)
    CT6-style headstock
    Chrome hardware

Awesome! I've been thinking of the classical version for awhile now. It looks awesome, even in those indoor pics! Congrats!

That must shred. I'm not a fan of acoustic/electrics but I bet it plays like it looks.

Yep, no doubt they make quality gear all around.I have owned two and both of them have blown me away in terms of bang for the buck value. If Carvin offered a 25.5 inch neckthru 6 string, thats all I would own!

The CT6 headstock is the best thing they've offered in a long time! Cool guitar!

I have one of those as my wallpaper at work.

One of the nicest accoustics I have ever seen. And looking at the back that is the best neck I have yet to see on an accoustic guitar.

very nice, but help me understand this one. is that soundhole not really a soundhole? how can it be a soundhole with a neckthru? I get the electric part, but how it is acoustic?
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

I'm curious about that as well..... perhaps a removable sound hole cover?

                    Awesome looking guitar

I had an AC 275, also neckthrough, it has a sound chamber going around the other side of the control cavity. after the three pcs are put together, then the inside is routed out, and then the top is installed.

Jacksonaxes is correct. It's a real soundhole. The AC175 is a semi-hollow design. The body is hollowed out like a real acoustic - most of the way there, but not completely so. It's a real nice compromise between the projection and tone of a full thick-bodied acoustic, and the playability of an electric. A very cool and versatile design.

That looks killer with the CT headstock.
