Is this really a US built B.C. Rich?

USA neckplates mean absolutely nothing at all,as B.C.Rich put them on virtually every bolt on,to show the company was based in L.A.California

Look at this for proof.
And uh-uh, this is NOT a USA made BC Rich, the crummy tuners are a dead give away. I hope you didn't pay a grand for it because it's not even worth a fifth of that amount.

First off,as others have stated-it doesn't say "Made In USA" on the headstock
Secondly, the dating page on the B.C.Rich website lists dating help (As far as it can) for USA Thru necks,Bolt ons,Japanese Thru necks and Bolt ons and all the other imports-I,amongst others, helped write the dating page

If I may chime in here (being a former BC employee)
We did custom Tele's on a custom order basis only. One of them actually had a Tele headstock. I personally did 2 of them while I was there. And all of them with the script "TM" logo. This was @ Class Axe BTW. There were a few more hanging around in various stages of completion. But there was never a limited run until Meegs did his with Bernie Rico. There are also no import Teles as far as I'm aware, unless they were done as a test run as a lot of BC's were, as pictured in the above catalog. That run AFAIK never made it to production, or I believe we'd see more of them.Last edited by Guest; 10-20-2006, 12:37 PM.

Actually, the one in the store at MGR was just like the one pictured above..the plate was not a typical BC Rich raised plate I believe.. just a flat chrome and I think it had an etched number. Its been a week and I'm still 12 hours out from finishing it up.. so the little details are a little foggy. I thinking I would have picked it up if it had an typical BCR plate as that is worth 30 some bucks in itself..I know for certain no where on the guitar was it saying US made and I believe it may have had even the CE sticker indicating foreign manufacture on the back of the neck.
I went back yesterday and the dang thing had sold..rather cheap too.. it was like 179-200. I knew I should have picked it up and at least stuck it on a layaway when I had it in my hands. Apple green, almost 7-up, rather cool. If anyone has an Orion blue book, these may be in it.
The pictured Blaster on the other hand, I've never seen outside of that catalog shot, but I have seen a few Outlaw series on ebay over the years.Last edited by charvelguy; 10-21-2006, 05:10 PM.

I didn't know that BC Rich like other companies did things to mislead people for sales. (I had read that the outlaw series was US made.) i.e. Charvel model series and the TX neck plate.
The serial numbers on Imports are Not necessarily different between Import series and USA Bolt on B.C.Riches
I work on the unofficial B.C.Rich Serial Number Archive and have Hundreds of Import guitars with the serial numbers Bxxx and BCxxxx-there are also hundreds of USA made bolt ons with the same serial numbers-and the same L.A.Series neckplate
There was a USA outlaw series and an import Outlaw guitar too-very confusing
