Like I said, If you like it, you might get a good one, I've had three warlocks, I still have one, it's an import, go figure. The Ironbird Is Korean, and yeah was 250, I think.... I love BCRICH, I have an ST3, and a few imports, so don't think I'm just downing the company, I just think the stuff out now is hard to stomach.
I'll say this, I have more BCrich's than jacksons, but that doesn't mean I think there better.

The Warlock I've always kinda liked, but that Widow/scrotum holder headstock sucks on anything that's not a Widow. I think most of B.C. Rich's shapes look better as basses than guitars anyway.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

I always liked the warlock shape.
for 250 what do you have to lose.

I bought one of these out of the local paper for dirt cheap, and after doing the usual tweaking that you have to do with any import guitar these days, it really kicks ass. Action is crazy low, it's a set neck (possibly neck-thru...hard to tell on this one) nice bound ebony board. If you know how to do basic setups (or know someone who does) I'd say get it...I play mine all the time.

It looked like QC let mine slip out the door. One of the bridge posts was not countersunk and installed slightly crooked so you could not lower the bridge enough to get really low action. The wiring job visually looked done well but it was still noisey. The volume pot was either shot or a POS, you could never quite reach 100% off, more like 98% It's not really made of Mahogany, it's Nato, I see they dropped that from the description too. I had doubts about the "ebony" fingerboard too. They inlays and binding were really cool actually. If I remember correctly the fretwork was better than normal too.
                    Thanks for the info.

Im with Subvamp here, you do a basic setup on the guitar, and go like snot. There arent many guitars u can pick up out of the box that will play amazing right away. I bought two of those music yo kramers for 199$. Took em to my guitar and spent 60$ on a setup and fret level and the guitar played great.

Being the anal GAS'er I am, I sold them off, now they dont offer then anymore

                          And shipping too.

I'd pass on it too (being a BC purist)
Even the NJ series NT series were better than this one, and they kinda disappointed me too.

So I'v sort of been second guessing buying this guitar. I guess it's just how much more comfortable my KV2 is to play compared to my cheap ibanez. What model of BC Rich is comparable to a USA jackson?

                              Silly question!

umm...a USA BC Rich? Depends on which model you're talking about.
BC Rich doesn't do a lot of US made volume like Jackson does.
Most of BC's US stuff is custom order basis about 80% of the time.
Unlike Jackson which has US Standard models and such.

So if you were to compare a US Jackson KV to a BC Rich, you'd compare the BC USA KKV model. Etc.....

Early hand-made BCRs, from '74-'85 are fantastic. They have real character that sometimes gets missed in the USA Jacksons! As for more recent Customs, I'd say the quality has been very hit and miss.
