I just bought one of these.

It's very well built. The bridge doesn't go as low as I'd like and I might need to cut the nut slots deeper.

It doesn't have jumbo frets but it's for my kids so I won't be too picky about that.

I've played a couple BC Rich. The first was an acrylic Warlock. Not bad, not great. It weighed like 18lbs though, but that was because it was, well, acrylic. If you want to go for different, for an extra $200, you can get one. The neck wasn't bad. The pickups were decent, especially if you want to play '80s metal or do a ton of palm mutes. However I would put EMG 81/85s on it. But it really didnt compare to the other guitar I played that day: a Parker P-40

Then at another local dealer I played one like that (was from a couple years ago with a white crackel paint job). The pickups were average at best. I thought the sound was somewhat weak. Could have been the amp I was using though, which was a Fender. Seemed pretty well put together. Overall, I'd think you would enjoy it.

As for the pickups, I would wait and see. If you get it home and like it, keep 'em stock. If you think they could be better, put some Seymour-Duncans, or better yet, EMGs on it.

for that price neckthru, ide say go for it. call & ask what series its based off of. if the quality is comparable to an NJ go for it. some of the lower series are crap, but again there isnt much out there for $250 NEW.

Unfortunately this guy is comparing two entirely different guitars with this one. Most of the people I've spoken to who have the Deluxe are very happy with it, especially at this price. They used to sell for a lot more...
The only solution to GAS is DEATH...

It's not a neck through it's a set neck. That's one thing I forgot to mention the neck joint was very very comfy.

                1+2 = McGuirk, 2+4 = She's hot, 6-4 = Happy McGuirk

If you are getting it through MF just order it and judge for your self. They have a 45 day return policy.

It's set neck but the neck heel is carved just like a neckthru, identical to my KK Wartribe neck thru.

My action is still a little high. If the threaded post inserts didn't have a lip on the top of the guitar body I could lower the bridge more.

For $249 SHIPPED, no tax, it's a killer deal.

I have a bronze (cheapest) bolt on korean made warlock that I bought because it was $75.

The neck is fantastic! and the sound is fine

However the body is not comfterable (as you might guess) I would def try one out with a strap for a while and do all your stage moves haha.

"scrotum holder". I must yield to that.

I have had a few warlocks. Mostly in the late 80's. USA's. They were fine. I noted some balance problems with the "shaped guitars". Very, very noticable on the bich's. Although I own and have owned several BC's, they are generally pretty crappy. I would elect for custom shop only if I wanted a nice fiddle.
