Ibenhad with piezo Floyd?

    Ibenhad with piezo Floyd?

    Someone mentioned here a while back that Ibanez has/had a model with a piezo Edge Floyd-type trem.

    Where can I get that trem? Is it spaced for OFR posts, or would I need to have someone make a Floyd-spaced baseplate for it?

      the RG1820XGK comes standard with the Ibanez Double-Edge Pro.. not sure of dimension specs tho in terms of retrofitting.

      I've seen the trem for sale on ebay already!

        They never sold Double Edge trems separately. They usually run about 300-450 when they show up on the 'Bay. The cheapest way to get one might be to keep your eyes open for a used RG 2020X.

            Hmmm...I kinda doubt it. I think word of that would have filtered over to Jemsite by now and I haven't heard a whisper about it.

              Hmmm. Makes sense, but then would anyone at Jemsite want to hack up an Ibanez to put Variax guts in it?
              Ibanez claims the piezos are "isolated" - I wonder if they're in the bridge or in the body?

                I don't honestly know what they mean by isolated. Try projectguitar; Brian Calvert would have a pretty good clue as to what's possible, I'm thinking.
