  • Musicyo Kramers?

Has anybody in here tried the Musicyo Kramers? I'm thinking about the Voyager (offset v) and the Imperial (explorer)..

    Are they any good?

How are the 1984 reissues though? Worth the money or would it be better to build a guitar yourself and have some pro apply the paint? Just curious cause people seem to have very polarized opinions about these guitars..

You're welcome. I really like mine a lot. I've got it set out in a stand in my living room, it's my go-to guitar for just sitting around on the couch and jamming. I've always kinda liked they Quad Rail pickups, but the one in the neck can be a little muddy. I may change them out for EMGs in the future, but they'll do for now. The only thing that annoyed me was the cavity wall being too close to the spring, so I guess I'll have to shave it down if I want to ever use a fifth spring, but aside from that, it's very nice. The neck feels great, and access to the 24th fret is not a problem.
Maybe I'll get a stoptail version when they're back in stock.

I think the Explorer shape with Floyd looks kinda freakish, but that's just because I'm used to my own Gibby Explorer I guess..

I've been looking at the Musicyo's for some time, they're really cheap - and if they sound halfway decent and the neck is ok to play - then I might get one some time soon, I just need a couple of Charvels first!

Again, thanks for you views sir!

I tried the Custom, it was really good for the money I recall.

I had a striker that I picked up for about 100 bucks used(but minty!). It was a surprisingly sweet axe and would have been well worth even full price. Had I dropped new pups and a schaller trem in there (it looks like that's what'd fit best) it woulda been a rock solid guitar. I took it apart and tried making a mutt out with the neck, the mutt didn't really play as well as the original axe
Also had a seven stringer with the fixed bridge, which wasn't half bad.. I just decided I didn't need seven strings so I found a good home for it.

I think I've read that they're no longer making these in Korea which is a shame, I really don't trust wherever they're making 'em now (probably Indonesia or something?) as much, so I wouldn't buy a new one.
I would want my six string striker back the way it was, but I have a DK2M now which is a much better axe!

Yep, there's a sticker on the back of the neck that says Made In Indonesia.

Not good.. I tried a guitar made in Indonesia once.. I think it was a Squier actually, one of the newer suckier models.. Anyway it was the worst guitar i had ever played.. the neck was horrible.. hope not all MII guitars are like that one..
