Why do they put 2 strap buttons on them? In 16 years of playing, I've never quite figured that one out...

It was done simply so the guitar would be more stable when sitting on the floor. Any other benefits were a byproduct. I actually like how the guitar hangs better (using the "higher" button) than with the normal one button setup so I build my mutts like that now.
