  • peace between the Koreans (ESP) and USA's (Jackson)?

I guess I'll find out next week when she gets here...

I know there has been a lot of turmoil in the world of Jackson vs ESP around the forum lately but I am here to show that the two companies can get along. At least I will find out next week when it gets here. I've had a few ESP's in the past and although some of the members on their board are people of... questionable... intelligence... I've been pretty happy with most ESP's I have played.

The pics are the seller's pics. I'll post some cleaner, stickerless pics when she gets here along with my SLS.

It has everything I am looking for and will make a great backup to my soloist while still getting plenty of playing time.

    Alder body
    maple neck
    tune-o-matic bridge
Duncan designed pickups.. which will be replaced asap..
Rosewood fretboard, no inlays cept for one on the second to last fret
    headstock/neck binding

The price was very nice too.

Can any of you who know anything about ESP tell me what year it was made by the serial number? Its an SC-500.

That would be 2002.. as far as my knowledge on LTD serial numbers go

Hey... its his carpet..Though I was admiring it too

Its a neck thru. I think they only made them up until 2002 then they released the SC-600.

I don't know man, a few days ago I played a ESP (no ltd) Viper and it was pretty damn awful, I don't know if it was the short scale or what but it played and sounded like crap. It had Seymour Duncan pickups, maybe that was it.

I've owned 5 ESP's, 1 Jackson. All were very kickass. The only thing I didn't like about Vipers I owned was the strap button placement, it caused them to nosedive.

                      I need a Jackson PC1.....badly.

seriously though, why do people need to piss on other people's parade? If this was a thread discussing LTD's generally, bitch about 'em all you like.

But since this is someone's new acquisition, and Thor is still waiting for this guitar and can't yet vouch for it's quality, playability, etc, good or otherwise, how about biting your tongue? You never know, this particularly LTD might be an absolute cracker.

I've played a few LTDs in the stores that I thought were quite decent guitars. Nothing about them really made me want to take them home, but the couple I've played weren't bad at all. Of course, I've played Jacksons I could say the same thing about.

                          Thanks Vitamin G.

Its true, I have never played the guitar I purchased but for $400 with a hardshell case, I figured it was a good buy.

I am also basing it off the following equation... I believe it is called a Transitive Property:

I like my soloist which has a 25.5 inch scale, rosewood fretboard, no inlays, neckthru build, and arched top. This guitar has the same features which means... I should like this guitar.

Of course there are some variables like the body wood (alder in the LTD compared to mahogany with a flamed maple top in my soloist) and the pickups but whats most important to me is the scale length, the neck construction, and wood. I have never heard alder and rosewood together but I am sure it can not be that bad. I've played LTD's before and they generally have a pretty comfortable neck. I know off hand I will need to replace the pickups so ya.

I took a chance on my Soloist and it is my baby now.

Of course I could be wrong and I could totally hate the guitar but I can always sell it right?

I am pretty damn excited and if you guys want to rain on my parade then.. ... jk

Seriously who knows but I think I'll like it. I still have a good week until it gets here.

I just picked up an LTD EC-1000 in vintage black and it kicks all kind of ass. It's the first non-Gibson neck that I've ever been completely satisfied with.

sworn enemy- I know a couple of guys who swear by those guitars. I think they'd sell their kids before they got rid of the Eclipses. I am sure they'd like to own a real Les Paul someday but their LTD's seem to be holding them over pretty well.

Personally, I did not like the neck on the EC-1000.
