Dean Michael Schenker Custom - should I?

Ok, I just saw a Dean Michael Schenker Custom. Some of you guys might have noticed I'm absolutely nuts for Schenker. One of my favorite guitarists ever - on a good day he is easily my favorite if he catches me in the right mood.
Lovely guitars he's got too! Would be damn cool to own one.
The thing is - I don't know if this guitar is made in the US or if it's Korean or something. I saw it online and I can't see from the pics where it's made. Can anyone help? The headline just says "Dean Michael Schenker Custom"..

If it's made in Korea I'm not sure I wanna go for it. In that case it seems to expensive. If it's made in the US I'd probably go for it, but at this point I don't have a clue.. Any help appreciated!

One of the few guys I can listen to for an extended amount of time and not get bored (Vinne Moore is about the only other guy that does not bore me). Perfect execution, probably the best sense of melody of any guitarist I have ever heard and the absolute best vibrato period. No one has as good of vibrato as Schenker - he has a whole vocabulary of different ones and each one is executed to perfection.
He is also one the most expressive players I have ever heard.

Obviously you know he played Gibson most of his career - why not just get a Gibson?
I did however hear a recent Dean V - don't know which one it was but was not the Schenker model - and it did sound very good. It was a very big guitar I remember.

Because a Gibson V with ebony board and block inlays is nearly impossible to find for less than $1000. A Gibson Michael Schenker V is also impossible to find, much less for a decent price.

I thought about getting one of those ignorant Gawthic Gibson Vs with the ebony board and Islamic Jihad inlay and have the whole thing done as a Schenker - including the block inlays.

Oh dear.. And down the drain it goes.. Guess I should be looking for a Gibson then.. But I understand the quality on these vary as well?
How about an 84 flying v? I'm looking at one (used of course) right now. Cream white. Nice!

Yeah, a buddy of mine bought one of the Dean Schenker Vs and brought it to me for a setup. For the price, it was pretty shabbily made...there was overspray on the binding, sharp fret ends, etc, and for a set neck guitar, it had a very "cheap" feel to it. Not that all import Deans do, but this particular one wasn't very good. It also had a CRAZY "V" profile neck...like Extento-V Profile. He wound up sending it back.

Not all import Deans are made in China, but the Schenker V model definitely is. I tried one in a local store and was not impressed at all (though I didn't expect much for the price tag either).
Felt and sounded cheap, and the workmanship wasn't good.

However, I own a korean Dean Vendetta 3.0 that IMO is very nicely made, and sounds and feels great. And all my bandmates thought the same.
The '79 series (of which I've played a few) are also very good in my book.

The Schenker Custom V is made in Korea. I know this for a fact.

All the Korean Deans I've played have been really nice. I think the really low end stuff is Chinese...I don't know where the Schenker models are made...

The Schenker V I saw today was made in Korea.Very nice guitar.I think there is a bolt on neck version made in commie chinkland.
