  • Vintage Greco guitar question..

I have a guitar that looks exactly like the one I posted a link below to (its a completed EBAY auction). The only difference is that mine is a 12 string!!
It is only missing the bridge and the nut.
    Any ideas??
    Here is the link:

That is from the late 60's or very early 70's. A 12 string version would be probably more valuable. I think you can consider this market pretty compariable to a Daion. I have seen these before but they can vary widely in price given the savviness of the seller.

Any ideas as as what? more specifically?

Sorry guys, I wasn't looking for a value. I am looking for the bridge and the nut. Any ideas where I can go to get a 12 string tunomatic type bridge for an archtop? How about a 12 string nut?

well, the probability of finding one as parts for canibalization will likely take some time. I would improvise. The nut would be a tricky cut, but its doable. You may even find a precut nut that you could shave down to size on the ends to fit if you had too, but this looks like a Rick knock off to a degree, so maybe start there.
The bridge.. its a trap style, looks like a narrow neck. Dimension it out post to post, saddle to saddle, height etc,..see if you can find a contemporary fit like a tonepros trap. Otherwise.. then you have to look to similar MIJ makes or styles and see if they have parts, likely from the same years which may fit on that guitar. I assume its metric. Maybe even a rick bridge may work. You will have some work ahead on this..closer you find a part that matches, the less work it'll be.

If the sizes are completely oddball, I would be pretty confident in saying that what you have is a 'Kent' after checking the eBay link.

Cutting a 12 string nut on a very narrow neck is tricky.Ricks are a bitch to cut most 12 string ricks had a plexiglass nut.A lot of the Jap guitars of this period had a brass nut.Well worth the time to fix, a very cool guitar good luck.

Epiphone made (makes?) a 12-string Les Paul. Contact an authorized Gibson/Epi dealer and they may be able to order you one.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

Try calling allparts and give them the exact measurements as japanese tunomatic bridge has a different thickness depending on the era it was made.
