Too bad. Andersons are sweet and I was looking forward to getting one eventually.

            Right.

Anderson isn't going out of business. Tom is just going back down to a 1-man-shop where he can make them himself, instead of managing a bunch of employees.

Result: They'll be better than ever before, and they'll cost a whole lot more.

What does that do to the value of his previous guitars?
Hmmm - wonder if I should "unlist" my Anderson 7 string and keep it...?

Yeah, I'd keep the 7 for another year anyway. I wonder if I should run out and get one as well? He's got some money in the bank now, I'm sure; if he decided to scale back to 12 a year or so I'll never be able to get one, ever ever, and the ones out there now will be the "last" of the easily obtainable ones. And, they're great quality, no matter how you look at it. Damn, I may have to go shopping.

That's a shocker. Sounds like he no longer enjoys running the business itself and/or isn't making much $$$ with the larger scale effort.

And some people think Charvels are overpriced.

Look at it as a positive instead of a negative. While he won't be turning out giant numbers of guitars, the attention he gives to the ones he will be building himself will be mind-boggling in all aspects.

For the extraordinarily small number of people who can actually afford them.

True Jim....but be that as it may, I would figure Tom has such a clientele and fanbase that will continue ordering from him well after the "corperate doors" have closed.
